The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announced special festive promotions, allowing Kenyans to enjoy free entry to national parks, sanctuaries, and marine parks before the year ends.
According to a notice issued on Friday, December 26, the offers will run until Wednesday, December 31, as part of Boxing Day group promotions. The service clarified that the deals apply exclusively to Kenyan citizens and are subject to specific terms and conditions.
Under the promotion:
For a family of five visiting sanctuaries or marine parks, one child aged 6–17 years gets free entry.
Groups of five travelling in a five-seater vehicle can bring one child free, while fully occupied 25-seater buses receive free entry for two adults.
Groups in seven-seater vans or eight-seater Land Cruisers will get one adult free.
Visitors staying three nights in park accommodations will get the fourth night free.
KWS described the promotion as a festive gift to families and friends, encouraging Kenyans to explore wildlife destinations across the country.
The announcement follows the recent launch of bus shuttle services at Nairobi National Park, Aberdare National Park, and Lake Nakuru National Park, which operate during weekends and public holidays. These shuttles allow tourists to enjoy game drives without using personal vehicles.
The promotional packages also align with KWS’s broader strategy to boost domestic tourism. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki recently confirmed plans to expand in-park facilities, increasing accommodation capacity from 1,800 to 4,000 beds, creating jobs, and empowering local communities.
“As we unwrap the season’s wildest gift, gather your family and friends and enjoy special group offers across Kenya’s parks, sanctuaries, and marine parks,” KWS stated.
