Kenyan rapper Dyana Cods has shared insights into her housing journey in Nairobi, revealing the contrast between her early struggles and current lifestyle.

The artiste disclosed that the lowest rent she has ever paid in the city was KSh 40,000 per month, a period she described as particularly challenging.

“My cheapest rent ilikuwa mbaya, it was like 40k,” she said, noting how the amount put serious strain on her finances during a tough phase in both her personal and professional life.

Her experience is reminiscent of similar revelations by other public figures. Media personality Kamene Goro previously shared that the cheapest house she ever rented in Nairobi went for KSh 55,000 per month.

How Her Standards Have Changed
Reflecting on her current situation, Dyana Cods noted that her expectations have significantly shifted. She now considers KSh 250,000 per month to be a reasonable benchmark for rent in Nairobi.

However, she added that she is currently living in what she described as a very cheap area, indicating that her current home does not fully align with her financial growth or preferred lifestyle.

Dyana Cods’ remarks highlight the evolving realities of urban living in Nairobi and how career growth and increased financial stability often reshape lifestyle expectations.
