Shocking: Meet Two Conjoined Twins Who Were Abandoned as Children but Now Work as Electricians for a State Power Company

Sohna and Mohna Singh were born on June 14, 2003, at a hospital in New Delhi, conjoined below the torso. After examining them, doctors at AIIMS determined that separating the twins would likely put one of their lives at serious risk. As a result, they remained together and eventually built a life around their unique circumstances.

Their parents were unable to accept them and gave them up when they were very young. At only two months old, Sohna and Mohna were taken to Pingalwara, a home for the destitute near Amritsar. The staff there raised the brothers and provided them with a family environment.

Although they share one body, Sohna and Mohna are two individuals. Each has a separate heart, two arms, kidneys and spinal cord. 

However, they share a liver, gallbladder, spleen and one pair of legs. Simple activities such as walking, sitting and turning a handle require the brothers to work closely together.

During their childhood, they became known for their intelligence, curiosity and playful personalities. They were particularly interested in electronics and often took apart damaged electrical appliances at Pingalwara to understand how they worked.

Their interest eventually developed into a career. They trained under an electrician at Pingalwara before completing a diploma in electrical work at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI).

In late 2025, their determination paid off when the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited employed them as Regular T Mates. They now work in an electrical supply control room, putting into practice the skills they developed from a young age.

The brothers have also been officially recognized as two separate individuals. Election authorities issued them separate voter identification cards, allowing each of them to participate in elections as an individual voter despite sharing one body.

Sohna and Mohna never had a choice about the circumstances of their birth. But through determination, education and hard work, they have chosen the kind of life they want to lead—and turned a difficult childhood into an inspiring story of resilience.
