In August 2018, Argentine police officer Celeste Ayala was working security at a children’s hospital in Buenos Aires when she noticed a hungry and severely undernourished baby who had been admitted alongside his siblings after being removed from his family.
Hospital staff explained that the child had not been fed for several hours due to medical procedures, protocols, and administrative delays.
