In January 2021, deep within Brazil's Amazon rainforest, 24-year-old Tawy Zoé embarked on an extraordinary journey to protect his father's health.
With his 67-year-old father, Wahu, struggling with poor eyesight and chronic urinary problems that made walking nearly impossible, Tawy lifted him onto his back and set off toward the nearest COVID-19 vaccination center.
The pair traveled for six grueling hours across dense jungle, crossing streams, climbing steep hills, and navigating difficult terrain before finally reaching the vaccination post. There, Wahu received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Without taking the easier path, Tawy then carried his father all the way back home, completing another six-hour trek through the rainforest. Get The Full Story Here.
