Life can change in ways no one expects. A young woman who arrived in the United States with very little money went on to become the mother of a man who would later become President of the United States.
According to reports published by WoW Story, Mary Anne, a young Scottish woman, arrived in New York in 1930 at the age of 18. It is claimed that she had only $50 in her wallet when she landed, hoping to build a better future in America.
The report says that life was not easy for Mary Anne during her early years in New York. Like many immigrants at the time, she struggled to make ends meet and had to work hard to survive.
She reportedly found employment as a maid, where she spent several years earning a living.
