President Donald Trump is expected to attend the dignified transfer ceremony for two U.S. service members who were killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a post on X that President Trump and the entire White House are keeping the families of the two soldiers in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
In a separate statement shared on Truth Social, President Trump vowed that Iran would face severe consequences for the deaths of the American troops.
He declared that every attack resulting in the death of a U.S. soldier would be met with a much stronger response, adding that the United States will continue its military campaign in the Middle East.
The deaths of the two service members have further heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, as the conflict continues to escalate across the region.
