U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran is urgently seeking negotiations with Washington as the conflict between the two countries continues to intensify. Speaking at the White House, Trump said Tehran "desperately wants to meet" because, in his view, the country is "getting decimated" by ongoing military operations.

Despite saying that Iran is interested in talks, Trump insisted that the United States has "no interest" in holding discussions at this stage. 

He stated that any negotiations would only take place if Iran is prepared to engage "in a meaningful way" and address key U.S. concerns.
