'Vurutia Yeye Chini Kabisa,’ Shock as Police Storm Home of a Man with a Disability, Throw Away His Crutches, Force Him to Walk Before Hurling Him Into a Vehicle Over Alleged Participation in the June 25 Protests

Kenyans have expressed outrage on social media after a disturbing video allegedly showed police officers humiliating a man with a disability during an arrest linked to the June 25 protests.

According to reports circulating online, the officers reportedly stormed the man's home in the early hours of Friday to arrest him over claims that he had participated in the June 25 demonstrations. Due to his physical disability, the man was reportedly unable to flee from the officers.

Witnesses alleged that the officers subjected him to degrading treatment during the arrest. In the viral footage, one officer is heard saying, "Vurutia yeye chini kabisa," as another officer allegedly threw away the man's crutches, leaving him struggling to move on his own.
