Kenyans were left concerned following a recent government update about the Ebola virus disease situation in the region, which has sparked widespread public anxiety across the country.... WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.
The Ministry of Health has moved to reassure citizens while also warning that the country remains on high alert due to the ongoing outbreak in neighbouring countries.
According to the government, Kenya has not recorded any confirmed Ebola cases so far. However, authorities have intensified surveillance measures, especially at border points and health facilities, to prevent any possible cross-border transmission of the deadly disease.
Health officials also revealed that several counties have been categorized as high-risk areas due to their proximity to regions affected by the outbreak in parts of East and Central Africa.
As a result, rapid response teams have been deployed, and screening efforts have been strengthened in key entry points across the country.
The Ministry further noted that laboratories are actively testing suspected cases, all of which have so far returned negative results, offering some reassurance to the public.
In addition, healthcare workers have been trained on how to detect and respond to any potential Ebola cases quickly and effectively.
Authorities have urged Kenyans not to panic but to remain cautious, maintain hygiene practices, and report any suspected symptoms to health facilities immediately.
The government emphasized that preparedness measures are in place to ensure the country is protected from any possible outbreak.
Despite rising fear on social media, health officials insist that Kenya remains safe and that the current measures are purely preventive as the region continues to monitor the evolving situation.
