"I Will Not Allow My Father to Be Blackmailed": President's Son Calls for Standard Media Group to Be Shut Down After Nation Media Group TV Stations Were Closed in Uganda

Kenyans were left talking on Sunday after reports emerged that General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni, had issued fresh remarks targeting media houses operating in East Africa.

According to a statement widely shared on social media, General Muhoozi claimed that both President William Ruto of Kenya and President Yoweri Museveni are his fathers. He further alleged that he would not allow either of them to be "blackmailed" by media organizations.

In the remarks attributed to him, Muhoozi claimed that he was responsible for ordering the closure of television stations operated by Nation Media Group in Uganda.
