Speaking from his hospital bed, the officer recounted that he was driving through a quiet section of Roysambu at about 9:30 PM when a young woman stopped him by the roadside.
He said the woman appeared distressed and politely asked for assistance, claiming she had an urgent issue that needed attention.
According to his statement, the woman then requested that he accompany her to a nearby lodging so they could speak privately. Trusting her explanation, he followed her without suspicion.
However, upon entering the room, he was shocked to discover several other women already inside. He estimated their number at around 19, bringing the total to more than 20, including the woman who had led him there.
He further explained that one of the women immediately locked the door, after which they surrounded him and demanded that he surrender all his belongings, including money and personal items.
The officer also reported that he was physically assaulted during the ordeal, leaving him injured and in significant pain.
He noted that the attack happened very quickly, making it difficult for him to identify or clearly see the individuals involved.
Police have since launched investigations into the incident as the officer continues to receive treatment.
Authorities are working to track down and arrest those responsible, while residents have expressed concern over rising insecurity in the area, especially at night.
