“My Son Is Jealous, We Can’t Even Have ‘Mechi’ With My Husband in Peace,” Shock as Woman Reveals in Viral Video, Kenyans React (VIDEO)

A viral video has left Kenyans talking online after a woman opened up about what she describes as an unusual and stressful situation in her marriage, claiming that her young son has become extremely attached and “jealous” to the extent of interfering with her private moments with her husband. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.

In the emotional clip, the woman says she and her husband are struggling to enjoy their marriage in peace because their child reportedly insists on being around them all the time, even at night.

“My son is jealous… we can’t even have ‘mechi’ with my husband in peace,” she says in the video, sparking mixed reactions online.

According to her, the child becomes restless whenever he notices the parents spending time together privately, and will often cry, knock on the door, or refuse to sleep unless he is close to them.

She claims this has made their relationship under constant pressure, forcing them to adjust their routines in an attempt to calm the situation.

The woman further explains that attempts to correct the behaviour have not worked, and the situation has slowly escalated from simple clinginess to what she describes as emotional dependence.

Kenyans react online

The video quickly went viral, with social media users divided over the issue. Some sympathized with the woman, saying children sometimes go through attachment phases that require patience and guidance, while others joked about the situation, turning it into meme material.

Others advised that the couple may need to set clear boundaries for the child and possibly seek professional advice if the behaviour continues.
Parenting or over-attachment?

Child development experts often note that children can develop strong attachment phases, especially when they are young or going through emotional insecurity.

However, they also emphasize the importance of gradually teaching independence and healthy boundaries within the family structure.

As the debate continues online, the video has once again highlighted how personal family issues can quickly become national conversation when shared on social media.

For now, the woman says she is trying her best to balance motherhood and marriage — even as she hopes her son will eventually adjust and give them space to “breathe.”
