According to reports circulating online, the man had woken up early as usual and gone to a nearby kibanda for breakfast before heading to work. Witnesses claimed he looked deeply disturbed and unusually quiet as he sat alone taking tea and chapati.

It is alleged that the deceased had been dating his girlfriend for several months, with the lady reportedly believing that he was working a better-paying job in Nairobi.

Trouble allegedly started after she discovered that the man was actually working at construction sites as a casual labourer.

In screenshots and audio clips shared widely on social media, the lady is said to have mocked the deceased, questioning why he always delayed sending her money whenever she asked for support.

“Hii ndio kazi kumbe huwa unafanya? Ndio maana nikikuitisha 10K unakawia kutuma,” she allegedly told him during their last conversation.

Sources claim the painful exchange deeply affected the man, who had reportedly been struggling financially while still trying to maintain the relationship and support his girlfriend whenever possible.

Eyewitnesses at the breakfast joint revealed that the young man suddenly collapsed while eating, causing panic among customers and the hotel owner.

Good Samaritans rushed to help him before he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead on arrival.

The heartbreaking story has triggered massive reactions online, with many Kenyans expressing sympathy and calling out people who look down upon hardworking hustlers based on their jobs.

Some social media users noted that mjengo workers go through tough conditions daily just to earn an honest living and deserve respect like everyone else.

Others also urged couples to stop putting excessive financial pressure on their partners, especially during these difficult economic times.

The viral video continues to attract emotional reactions as Kenyans mourn the deceased and debate about love, money, and respect in relationships.
