“Sina Haja na Uongozi Wenu”: Top Politician Shocks ODM After Announcing Exit, Plans to Join New Party Ahead of 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, a top politician shocked many Kenyans when he announced that he plans to quit the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party, a move that has left many Kenyans shocked and sparked wide reactions across the political scene.

He revealed that in 2027, he intends to seek re-election under a different party ticket.

In a statement to the press, he said that the new party he intends to join is still new, and he will reveal its name at the right time. For now, he only confirmed that he will be leaving ODM.

The legislator, Caroli Omondi, further explained that one of the main reasons for his decision is the party’s nomination process, which he described as unfair.

He also claimed that some members of ODM, including himself, have faced threats, making it difficult to operate freely within the party.

“The issues with the nomination process and continuous threats to members have made me reconsider my future in ODM,” he added.

He clarified that the new party he plans to join is independent and not aligned with the current government. He said he is looking for a political formation that treats all members fairly and equally.

“I want to join a party that gives every member a fair chance, without fear or favor,” he explained.

According to political observers, Caroli Omondi’s announcement is likely to spark political debate as Kenya heads toward the 2027 general elections.
