Sad: Kisii Schools Heartbroken as Deputy Principals Are Involved in a Nasty Accident, Some Admitted to ICU

Two deputy principals are in critical condition after a serious road accident at Tosha Petrol Station along the Bobaracho–Kisii road near Kisii National Polytechnic.

The accident happened when a lorry is said to have lost its brakes. It then veered off the road and crashed into a Probox matatu carrying passengers, including three deputy principals from local secondary schools.

Witnesses said the lorry was moving at high speed before the crash, causing panic as people ran for safety.

A boda boda rider who saw the incident said everything happened very fast and the vehicle could not be controlled.

Students from Kisii National Polytechnic and members of the public rushed to rescue victims. They helped pull out the injured and took them to nearby hospitals.

Police officers from Kisii Central later arrived at the scene to manage traffic and begin investigations.

One of the deputy principals is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital and is in critical condition. Other victims are receiving treatment, while some have already been discharged.

Students at the institution have raised concern over repeated accidents along the area, saying it has become a dangerous black spot.

They are calling for urgent safety measures, including a possible flyover and better road control.

They also blamed reckless driving and urged authorities to enforce traffic rules more strictly, especially for speeding and heavy trucks.

Road safety groups have also called for improved safety measures near learning institutions to prevent similar accidents in future.
