President Ruto Calls Himself “Most Unique President Kenya Has Ever Had” During State House Meeting

President William Ruto has described himself as the “most unique president Kenya has ever had,” citing his youth and academic background as key factors shaping his leadership style.

Speaking during a meeting with women leaders at State House, the President said his position as Kenya’s youngest president and his doctoral degree enable him to make tough but necessary decisions for the country.

“I am the youngest president and the only one with a PhD. That is why I am able to implement tough decisions for the benefit of the country,” he said.

Ruto also took aim at opposition leaders, questioning their long years in public service and what he described as a lack of tangible achievements.

He specifically referenced former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, suggesting that despite decades in politics, his record remained limited.

“When asked about their track record, the main thing they can point to is that they have been around,” Ruto said.

The President also praised women leaders in his administration, highlighting their performance and urging more women to take up leadership roles.

He singled out Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, commending her work and stating that she was setting high standards in governance.

“The women in my Cabinet are working hard and making a real difference. I urge women to believe in themselves and take up leadership roles,” he added.

During the event, a woman leader from Garissa praised the President’s initiatives, including the housing programme and the Social Health Authority system, saying they were improving access to services and economic opportunities.

The meeting focused on women’s empowerment and economic inclusion, while also highlighting political contrasts between the government and opposition figures.
