Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina has called on former President Uhuru Kenyatta to join hands with opposition leaders in forming a united front aimed at defeating President William Ruto in the next general election.
Speaking during a burial ceremony in Kirinyaga County, Maina urged key opposition figures—including former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and Siaya Senator James Orengo—to unite ahead of the polls.
“Mshikane na hawa viongozi wote tuhakikishe huu uongozi wa kifua na wizi wa pesa za uma tumeuondoa mamlakani,” she said, loosely translated as calling for unity to remove what she described as poor governance.
Her remarks were met with cheers and chants of support from sections of mourners, signaling strong backing for a possible opposition alliance.
Maina also accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of mismanaging key sectors, including health, raising concerns over reported financial losses within the Social Health Authority (SHA).
The comments add to growing political momentum around opposition realignment discussions as leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle.
