"Nawaombea Mauti Kwenye Maisha Yao," Shock as Pastor Lays Curses on Politicians Opposing Ruto’s Re-election Bid, Says They Are Dangerous to the Country’s Sovereignty

A local pastor identified as James Mwokovu has sparked mixed reactions after making strong political remarks during a church service in Dandora, Nairobi County.

While addressing the congregation, the pastor openly criticized politicians who are opposing President Ruto’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In his statement, Pastor Mwokovu said that he is praying for God to bring misfortune to those opposing the president. He claimed that the more these leaders criticize or fight against Ruto’s re-election, the more they are putting the peace and stability of the country at risk.

His words shocked many, especially coming from a religious leader.

The pastor went further to defend the president by saying that many of the opposing politicians have not supported the church like Ruto has done.

According to him, the president has been generous to religious institutions and even invites pastors to his home for prayers.

He added that this is one of the reasons why many in the church support his leadership and would like to see him re-elected.

Pastor Mwokovu also warned that failure to re-elect President William Ruto in 2027 could lead to unrest in the country. He claimed that those who support the president may not easily accept a different outcome, suggesting possible tension if the election does not go in Ruto’s favor.

However, his remarks have not been well received by many Kenyans on social media. A section of users criticized the pastor, saying that religious leaders should focus on preaching the word of God and avoid involving themselves in political matters.

Others expressed concern over the use of harsh language and curses, saying it goes against the teachings of the Bible.

The incident has now raised a wider debate about the role of religious leaders in politics and whether such statements are appropriate in places of worship.
