“Mtoto Wangu Amekosea Nani Aki?” Sad as Woman Cries Helplessly During Interview After Kisii Mother-in-Law Allegedly Burned Her Baby With Acid to Death

Speaking during an interview with a local media house, a woman from Nyamira, Mercy Nyomaita, shared an emotional account of how her young child, who was previously healthy, suddenly fell ill and later died under heartbreaking circumstances.

Mercy explained that she married a man from Kisii, and for the first two years, their marriage was peaceful and full of happiness.

The couple was later blessed with a baby, an event she described as bringing immense joy to their home.

She said, “Having my baby brought so much happiness to our home. We were excited to watch him grow and enjoy every moment with him.”

According to Mercy, she ran an electronics shop and would often leave the baby under the care of her sister. However, she said things slowly changed, and the joy in their home began to fade without clear explanation.

One day while at work, she received a distressing call from her sister informing her that the child had suddenly become very weak and was rapidly deteriorating. Mercy said she rushed home immediately.

“I was shocked and immediately rushed home, only to find out that my evil mother-in-law had been involved in harming my baby,” she narrated.

The child was rushed to hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where doctors reportedly told the family that the baby had been given something harmful to lick, suspected to contain poison.

Medical staff further revealed that the child’s oesophagus had been severely damaged, leading to kidney failure. Despite intensive efforts by doctors, the baby sadly passed away.

Mercy said she could not come to terms with the loss, describing the pain as unbearable.

“Mtoto wangu amekosea nani aki? I cannot believe it. My healthy baby is gone. His oesophagus was burned, and his kidneys failed. It is a pain I cannot describe,” she cried during the interview.

She now claims that her mother-in-law was responsible for the incident and is calling for justice, urging authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure those responsible are held accountable
