Kenyans on social media were left in shock on Tuesday after an 18-year-old form four student posted a video of herself saying she no longer wants education, but instead wants to drop out of school and find a husband who will give her a child... WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.
In the video, the young girl claims that she has seen many people go through education but still end up struggling in life without success. She says that school is not worth it because, in her view, it does not guarantee a better future.
She further goes on to say that she will not “waste herself” like others or use her parents’ school fees for nothing. Instead, she insists that she plans to drop out and marry her boyfriend, who she says is 44 years old.
The girl adds that she believes her boyfriend will take better care of her compared to what her parents have done. She also says she does not plan to return to school, even though she is supposed to sit for her exams.
According to her, her main focus is to go and take care of her boyfriend, who she claims has promised her a better life.
However, Kenyans online have strongly reacted to the video, advising her to rethink her decision and continue with her education. Many have warned that early marriage could ruin her future and limit her opportunities in life.
