A Kenyan woman named Margret has shared her painful story of how she ended up at Lang’ata Women Prison serving a 60-year jail term for a crime she says she did not commit. According to her, her life changed completely after she trusted the wrong person and got involved in a situation she never expected.
Margret says it all started when she met a man on Facebook. The man praised her beauty and later asked if they could meet at his home in Nairobi. She says the kind words made her feel special, and she quickly agreed to meet him without thinking twice about the possible danger.
She explains that after visiting the man, she ended up staying with him and they continued seeing each other for a long time. During this period, she later became pregnant.
Margret further claims that after she gave birth, the man took the child without her permission and allegedly sold the baby to a businesswoman.
When he returned home without the child, she became worried and asked him where the baby was, but he allegedly lied to her that the child was with his aunt.
As time passed, a neighbor reportedly became suspicious and informed the police, leading to investigations into the situation.
Margret says that from there, her troubles began. She was arrested, taken into custody, and later charged in court. Medical reports were presented showing she had given birth, but the child was missing.
She insists this is how she ended up being sentenced to a long prison term, maintaining that she is innocent of the crime she was convicted for.
