Police in Marsabit County are investigating the killing of a man following a suspected love triangle incident in Elbeso village within North Horr Constituency.
The victim was identified as Badaqe Galgalo Abduba, aged 34, whose body was discovered with multiple stab wounds after an alleged night visit to a woman who is a primary school teacher and was known to him.
According to preliminary findings, the incident occurred on Friday at a homestead belonging to the teacher, who is said to have been romantically linked to the deceased.
Local elders reported to the area assistant chief that the teacher’s husband was away in neighbouring Isiolo County at the time of the incident.
Investigators established that Galgalo had visited the woman at night when another man, believed to be her lover, arrived unexpectedly.
A confrontation reportedly broke out, leading to a violent struggle that left Galgalo fatally injured.
He was found lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts to the upper body.
Marsabit County police commander Leonard Kimaiyo confirmed the incident and stated that a 45-year-old suspect later surrendered to police hours after the killing.
The suspect is alleged to have admitted involvement in the fatal confrontation.
Officers recovered a bloodstained knife believed to have been used in the attack about 500 metres from the scene.
The woman was taken to North Horr Police Station, where she recorded a statement as part of the ongoing investigation.
The body of the deceased was moved to Marsabit County Referral Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted.
Police said investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killing as the suspect remains in custody awaiting further legal action.
