As shared on social media, a close ally of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i was on Monday morning attacked by armed goons who badly assaulted him in a shocking incident that has caused fear and anger among Kenyans online.
According to the report, the man identified as Peter was attacked while walking alone on the road. It is said that he was campaigning for Matiang’i and encouraging Kenyans to support him as the possible 6th President of the Republic of Kenya in the 2026 elections.
Witnesses and early reports claim that while he was carrying out the campaign activities, unknown individuals suddenly ambushed him.
They reportedly started beating him without giving him any chance to escape or defend himself.
He was later rescued by police officers who were on patrol along the road. The officers quickly rushed him to hospital after finding him in very critical condition with severe injuries, including what was described as broken bones.
Sadly, despite efforts by doctors to save his life, Peter was later pronounced dead while receiving treatment in the hospital.
His death has sparked shock and sadness among Kenyans, especially on social media, with many calling the attack brutal and unacceptable.
Many people are now urging the police to carry out a full investigation and ensure that those responsible for the attack are arrested and brought to justice.
