“Aki Tafadhali, Bibi Yangu Amejifungua Tu Jana, Chukueni Mia Tano Muniwachie Elfu Moja Mia Tano”: Sad Moment in Nairobi CBD as Two Officers Forcefully Take Ksh 2,000 From Porter, Leaving Him Crying

A painful video that is now spreading fast on social media has left many Kenyans heartbroken. In the clip, two police officers are seen stopping a man who works as a porter in Nairobi CBD. The officers accuse him of looking like a criminal and demand that he gives them Ksh 2000 or they take him into custody. The man appears confused and scared as he tries to explain himself. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.

In the video, the porter is heard crying and begging the officers to understand his situation. He explains that he had struggled the whole day, even working in the rain, just to get the Ksh 2000.

He says the money was meant to help his wife, who had just given birth two days ago. The man adds that if he gives out all the money, his wife will have nothing to eat, which is not good for her health as advised by the doctor.

Despite his explanation, the officers do not listen. One of them grabs the man by the collar while the other forces him to walk, saying they are taking him to the police station. The man continues to cry and plead for mercy, but his words seem to have no effect on the officers.

At some point, the porter begs them to at least take Ksh 500 and leave him with Ksh 1500 so that his wife can have something to eat. He says she has not eaten anything since morning.

However, the officers reportedly take all the money from him and order him to leave and go home.

The video ends with the man walking away in tears, clearly broken and helpless.

The incident has touched many Kenyans online, with many questioning how people who are supposed to protect citizens can treat them in such a harsh and unfair way.
