Wamuchomba Hits Back at Gachagua Amid Escalating Political Row

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has strongly criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua following remarks he allegedly made about her during a recent public event.

In a post shared on Facebook, Wamuchomba questioned Gachagua’s conduct, accusing him of unfairly targeting women in his political statements.

Her response comes amid growing tensions between the two leaders, who have in recent months engaged in public exchanges.

The dispute is unfolding alongside a wider political clash involving President William Ruto, who recently made serious allegations against his former deputy.

In his remarks, Ruto accused Gachagua of involvement in a past incident and further claimed that he interfered with the will of his late brother, Nderitu Gachagua.

On his part, Gachagua has pushed back against the accusations, alleging that the President is targeting him politically. He claimed the fallout stems from his opposition to alleged attempts to take control of key institutions, including Nairobi Hospital.

The escalating war of words highlights deepening political divisions, with leaders trading sharp accusations in public forums. The claims and counterclaims remain contentious, with no formal legal conclusions presented in the ongoing public debate.

As the situation continues to unfold, it reflects rising political tensions ahead of the 2027 general elections, with rival camps increasingly taking confrontational positions.
