Universities Fund Releases Scholarship Eligibility List for KCSE Graduates

The Universities Fund has published a list of students eligible for government scholarships as the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application period approaches.

The list targets students who recently completed secondary school and performed well in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

These students meet the government’s criteria for financial support and will be considered for scholarships to cover a significant portion of tuition fees once placed in universities through KUCCPS.

Students on the eligibility list must still apply for university placement via KUCCPS. After securing placement, they will proceed to apply for financial support under the government scholarship program.

The scholarships are designed to complement other funding options, including loans from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

The Universities Fund has urged students to verify their eligibility using official platforms to avoid missing out on the opportunity.

Education stakeholders note that this initiative aims to ease the transition from secondary school to higher education and to promote equal access for learners who may lack sufficient financial resources.

Thousands of students across the country are expected to benefit from the program once university placements are finalized and the funding process begins.
