State House Dismisses Claims of Farouk Kibet’s Removal, Terms Reports False

The Government of Kenya on Tuesday, March 3, issued a formal statement dismissing reports circulating online that Farouk Kibet had been removed from his position at State House.

In a clarification from the Office of the President, officials stated that Mr. Kibet continues to serve as a Presidential Adviser and remains actively involved in supporting government programmes and coordinating policy initiatives.

“The claims being circulated online are entirely unfounded and appear to be the work of individuals seeking to create unnecessary speculation and confusion,” the statement read.

Call for Reliance on Official Communication

The government emphasized that any changes in public appointments are formally communicated through gazette notices or authorized press releases issued by State House.

Officials urged the public and media to rely only on official communication channels of the Republic of Kenya to avoid misinformation.

The clarification follows a wave of social media posts alleging Kibet’s dismissal, which quickly went viral and fueled public speculation.

Farouk Kibet’s Influence

Since President William Ruto assumed office, Kibet has been regarded as one of the administration’s key behind-the-scenes figures.

He has played a visible role in political mobilization and coordination within the government.

Some commentators have compared his influence to that of Nicholas Biwott, a powerful figure during the late President Daniel arap Moi’s era. However, the current administration maintains that Kibet remains firmly in his advisory role.

As speculation subsides, the government’s statement seeks to reassure the public that no changes have been made regarding Kibet’s position.
