Silas Jakakimba Warns Senator Sifuna Against Relying on ‘Sisi Ndio Sifuna’ Support

Former Raila Odinga aide, Silas Jakakimba, has cautioned Edwin Sifuna over relying on the popularity of the ‘Sisi Ndio Sifuna’ movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Jakakimba’s warning came after Senator Sifuna announced plans to conduct a nationwide tally of people who subscribe to the slogan before deciding whether to contest for the presidency.

In a statement shared publicly, Jakakimba urged the senator not to divert resources to the tally, describing it as unreliable and advising him to focus on defending his current seat:

“I am convinced that at this point in time, in this country — those very Kenyans of the past three weeks who did the Sisi Thingy, trust them not. Don’t waste any dime or cent on a tally. Put all your resources, if any, on re-election campaigns for the seat you currently hold, which is facing early competition already. Your Dearest Brother, SJ,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senator Sifuna affirmed that he has no plans to leave the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ahead of the upcoming elections.

He also expressed his opinion that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the President and the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga should not be extended.

Jakakimba’s remarks have sparked debate across social media, highlighting ongoing discussions about political strategy and loyalty within Kenya’s opposition circles as the 2027 elections approach.
