Siaya Residents Demand Action: “Governor Orengo, Go Joke Somewhere Else”

The atmosphere in Siaya County has shifted as residents express growing frustration with Governor James Orengo. Locals are now making it clear that his recent jokes and lighthearted remarks on pressing issues are no longer acceptable.

For months, the governor’s humorous style drew laughter from some citizens. However, the amusement has worn off as challenges persist: farmers struggle to find markets, youth unemployment remains high, and roads continue to deteriorate.

Citizens insist that humor cannot replace tangible solutions. “Orengo should go joke somewhere else,” community leaders and residents alike have stated.

The message is not against humor itself, but against meaningless talk during critical times. People are calling for leadership that is results-oriented, pragmatic, and serious.

Siaya’s populace expects real progress, improved public services, and transparency. Continued trivialization risks eroding the confidence of the very people who elected him.

By voicing their discontent, the people of Siaya are demonstrating courage and holding their leaders accountable.

Their stance serves as a reminder to all Kenyan officials: governance demands respect, commitment, and action. If leaders fail, the public will not hesitate to declare: “Enough is enough.”
