Residents of Uasin Gishu County were left in shock after a local chief suddenly collapsed and died shortly after meeting his former wife, who reportedly left him about 10 years ago because he had financial problems.
Reports from the family indicate that the chief was in good health earlier that day. According to them, he received a phone call from his former wife asking if they could meet and talk later that night in Eldoret town.
The chief’s current wife explained that when her husband received the call, he appeared happy and immediately prepared to leave the house. She said he drove off looking excited about the meeting with his former partner.
However, the meeting reportedly ended in tragedy after the chief suddenly collapsed shortly after greeting and hugging his ex-wife. The unexpected incident has raised many questions among family members and residents.
The chief’s wife stated that the death appeared unusual and called on authorities to carry out a thorough investigation to establish what exactly happened during the meeting.
Police officers responded to the incident and took the body of the deceased to a local morgue where it is expected to undergo a postmortem examination.
Meanwhile, the former wife is said to be assisting police with investigations as authorities try to determine the circumstances surrounding the chief’s sudden death.
