In Trans Nzoia County, a grade 6 student tragically died on Friday while receiving treatment in hospital after allegedly being abused by her stepmother.
According to reports, the young girl had returned home from school when her stepmother accused her of leaving school early without permission and not completing her home duties.
The stepmother then reportedly assaulted the girl, leaving her unconscious. She was rushed to hospital, complaining of severe headaches caused by the assault.
Sadly, the girl passed away a few minutes later. Her family has been left heartbroken and is urging the authorities to act quickly and arrest the stepmother.
The tragic death has shocked the local community, with many calling for justice for the young girl and stricter measures to protect children from abuse at home.
