Protests Erupt in Narok After Activist Johana Kamilan Goes Missing

Residents of Ang’ata Barrikoi in Trans Mara, Narok County have staged protests following the reported disappearance of local activist Johana Langat Kamilan.

The incident has raised tension in the area, with locals demanding answers about his whereabouts.

Disappearance After Funeral Incident

According to reports, Kamilan went missing after a confrontation during a condolence gathering held in honour of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno.

Sources say the activist was allegedly ejected from the event and assaulted after political tensions escalated at Ng’eno’s rural residence a few days before the funeral.

The circumstances surrounding what happened after the incident remain unclear.

Residents Demand Answers

On Thursday, angry residents marched to Ol Donyorok Police Post, demanding information about Kamilan’s whereabouts.

Some protesters questioned whether the activist might be held in police custody, while others expressed concern over his safety.

The demonstrators urged authorities to clarify the situation and take action to locate him.

Police Given 24-Hour Ultimatum

Community members have issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Inspector General of Police, demanding that authorities reveal Kamilan’s whereabouts.

The activist was reportedly known as a critic of the late MP Johana Ng’eno, a factor that residents say may have contributed to tensions in the area.

His disappearance has further heightened emotions following the burial of the legislator, with locals calling for swift investigations and assurances about his safety.
