Narok County was awash in Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) colours on Saturday, March 7, as residents gathered at Melelo Grounds in Narok South to welcome Governor Gladys Wanga ahead of the Narok County edition of the ODM Linda Ground.
Governor Wanga’s arrival was met with a massive turnout of party supporters, who waved flags and donned the signature orange attire, reflecting strong grassroots support across the county.
The event, part of broader political activities, aimed to energize supporters and reinforce ODM’s presence in the region.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Wanga praised the dedication of party members and reiterated her commitment to service and development across Narok County.
She highlighted the importance of unity and active participation in building a stronger, inclusive political movement that addresses the needs of all residents.
The event also featured performances by local artists and cultural groups, showcasing Narok County’s rich heritage while creating a festive atmosphere.
Observers noted that the vibrant display of ODM colours underscored the party’s strong foothold in the region and reflected the appeal of Governor Wanga’s leadership.
Some ODM leaders allied with party leader Oburu Odinga have advocated systematic cooperation with the government, arguing that collaboration would help the party remain politically viable while enabling supporters to benefit from development and state opportunities.
This approach is seen as a strategic move to retain influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Narok County edition of the ODM Linda Ground is expected to further galvanize support, energize party members, and set the stage for continued engagement with local communities across the county.
