A 45-year-old woman identified as Monica has opened up about the painful and humiliating experience she went through after her own son turned against her.
Monica said her 27-year-old son was misled by rumors from people in the village who claimed that she was responsible for his father’s death through witchcraft. She strongly denied the claims, saying they are false and have destroyed her relationship with her son.
Speaking during an interview, Monica explained that the incident happened on a Friday at around 8:30 in the morning. She said her son arrived home while very angry and was accompanied by three other men.
Without giving her time to explain herself, he ordered her to leave the house immediately, leaving her confused and frightened.
Monica narrated that when she tried to ask what the problem was, her son became violent and started beating her. She said he then forced her out of the house and dragged her towards his father’s grave.
The incident happened in public, attracting the attention of many people who gathered to watch in shock.
According to Monica, her son forced her to stand and dance on top of the grave while accusing her of being behind his father’s death. He reportedly threatened her, making her fear for her life.
She said the moment was very painful and humiliating, especially because it happened in front of other people who did not step in to help her.
Due to the shame and fear she experienced, Monica said she decided to leave her home and start a new life elsewhere. She moved to Nairobi, where she is currently living in a rented house.
She added that what her son did to her is something she will never forget, and she hopes one day he will realize the truth and seek forgiveness.
