Senior Counsel Martha Karua has criticized the alleged forceful eviction of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju from his Karen residence, describing the incident as “thuggery.”
According to reports, over 49 police officers reportedly carried out the eviction on March 14, 2026, claiming they had received orders from higher authorities. Tuju said:
"Over 49 police officers came to my house and asked me to leave. They told me they did not have plans to do it but had received orders from above to ensure I'm out of my home. I have moved to court and am currently waiting for a response from Chief Justice Martha Koome."
The eviction is linked to an alleged debt owed by Tuju to a company, with prior attempts reportedly made to auction his assets to recover the money.
