Lugari Mourns Education Leader Wilbrodah Ngutuku

Residents of Lugari are in mourning following the death of Wilbrodah Ngutuku, a respected education leader who passed away after a brief illness. Her passing has left teachers, students, and community members in deep shock as they remember her dedication to local schools.

Madam Ngutuku previously served as Deputy Principal at St Cecilia Secondary School in Lugari Constituency. She earned a reputation for strong leadership, discipline, and commitment to academic excellence. 

Colleagues note that she worked closely with both teachers and students to maintain high standards and foster a supportive learning environment.

At the time of her passing, she was teaching at Mautuma Senior School, continuing to serve diligently despite facing health challenges. Fellow educators describe her as hardworking, focused, and always encouraging students to aim higher.

Madam Ngutuku was married to Cosma Ngutuku, former Principal of St Augustine Mlimani Senior Secondary School. Together, they were well known in Kakamega County’s education circles, highly respected for their commitment to discipline, hard work, and excellence.

Tributes have poured in from colleagues, former students, and community members. Many recall her mentorship and guidance, highlighting how she shaped careers and provided support both inside and outside the classroom. 

Former learners shared how her advice and encouragement played a crucial role in their success.

Catherine Khalayi, a former colleague at St Cecilia Secondary School, described Madam Ngutuku as a hardworking woman who took her responsibilities seriously. She added that losing her was deeply painful and called death cruel for taking someone so dedicated.

Wilbrodah Ngutuku’s legacy lives on through the countless students and teachers she inspired. Her commitment to education and her community will be remembered for years to come, leaving an enduring mark on Lugari’s schools.
