Kioni, Gachagua Discuss National Unity as Omanga Joins DCP

Jubilee Deputy Party Leader (Operations) Jeremiah Kioni on Friday, March 20, met with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in a discussion focused on pressing national issues.

The meeting, which also included former Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia, was described by Kioni as candid and centered on restoring stability, dignity, and economic sanity in the country.

“This morning, accompanied by former Governor Francis Kimemia, we held an open engagement with Rigathi Gachagua, discussing urgent national matters and the need for responsive leadership,” Kioni said.

The discussions also addressed concerns over a widening disconnect between leaders and citizens, with Kioni emphasizing that Kenya is at a critical crossroads, calling for decisive, people-centered leadership.

“We explored ways to achieve national unity and reform, aiming for a united and pragmatic path to address systemic failures,” he added.

The meeting comes a day after former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga officially joined the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), where she was welcomed by Gachagua at the party headquarters in Nairobi.

Gachagua praised Omanga as a leader of integrity committed to improving the livelihoods of Nairobi residents.

“Does Millicent Omanga look like someone who can be bought? No one elected under the DCP ticket will be bought after the election,” he asserted.

Omanga, meanwhile, apologized to Nairobi residents for previously supporting President William Ruto, stating:

“I ask for forgiveness for believing the UDA wheelbarrow would deliver; I was wrong. He lied to all of us.”

DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala welcomed Omanga and her supporters from Nairobi’s 17 constituencies, noting that her enrollment strengthens the party’s foothold in the county.

Gachagua outlined plans for the party to field candidates in all elective positions nationwide and to secure a majority in both the National Assembly and the Senate ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
