Veteran Kenyan journalist Jeff Koinange recently shared an emotional moment with his followers after visiting his late father’s grave, a quiet family visit that quickly caught the attention of many Kenyans online.
The renowned presenter posted photos from the visit, which marked 60 years since the death of his father, Fredrick Mbiyu Koinange, who passed away in 1966 when Jeff was only two months old.
The gravesite is located on the family’s expansive estate in Kiambaa. Images shared online showed a serene environment surrounded by green lawns, tall trees, and a neatly maintained pathway leading to the grave.
The grave itself appeared well preserved, featuring black tiles, white decorative stones, and a headstone engraved with a Bible verse from Ecclesiastes about life and seasons.
During the visit, Jeff Koinange and several family members carried flowers as they paid tribute to the family patriarch. The moment was quiet and reflective as the family remembered a man whose legacy continues to shape the well-known Koinange family in Kenya.
In his social media post, the journalist described the visit as a special and emotional day, reflecting on his father six decades after his passing.
Beyond the emotional tribute, the photos also gave Kenyans a rare glimpse of the historic Koinange family land in Kiambaa, which has deep roots spanning generations.
For many fans, the moment revealed a more personal side of the famous TV host—showing that behind the tough interviews and television presence, Jeff Koinange still carries a deeply personal family story.
