Is She Resigning? ODM SG Catherine Omanyo Shocks Kenyans with Bold Morning Message to Oburu, Apologizes to Sifuna Over Insults

Early Wednesday morning, the new ODM Secretary-General and Busia Women Representative, Catherine Omanyo, surprised Kenyans after sending a bold letter to ODM boss Oburu Odinga.

The message, shared widely on social media, left many people talking and asking questions about the future of party leadership.

In the letter, Omanyo reportedly carried a strong message that hinted at possible changes in her position.

At the same time, she took the opportunity to apologize to ODM Party Leader Edwin Sifuna over comments and insults she had made in the past. Many Kenyans were impressed by the candid tone and her willingness to own up to previous mistakes.

Omanyo allegedly wrote that she is ready to step aside as ODM SG if Kenyans feel she should. She emphasized that ODM is an independent party that works in the interest of its people, and therefore the views of Kenyans matter the most in determining her future role.

She further stated that if the public decides she should continue in the SG role, she will continue serving in that capacity without hesitation.

Omanyo made it clear that the focus of party leaders should now be on the needs of Kenyans, rather than personal disagreements.

By apologizing to Sifuna and signaling her openness to public opinion, Omanyo sparked mixed reactions across social media. While some praised her for humility, others wondered if this was a sign of potential resignation.

Regardless, her letter has clearly sent shockwaves in the political arena, leaving many Kenyans keenly watching what will happen next.
