Residents in Kapsabet, Nandi County were left in shock after a Form Three girl reportedly refused to continue with her studies, claiming that she has already found a man who is taking good care of her.
According to reports, the 17-year-old girl told both her parents and teachers that she no longer sees the need to stay in school because the man she loves is providing everything she needs. She insisted that what she wants most is to remain close to him.
The situation surprised many people after the teenager allegedly warned that she might take her own life if anyone tries to separate her from the man.
She reportedly said that even her parents should not interfere with the relationship because she believes the man truly loves her and wants to build a future with her.
The girl also revealed that her boyfriend is a 42-year-old boda boda rider. According to her, the man always treats her well and makes her feel happy. She further claimed that the rider has promised to leave his wife and children so that he can marry her in the future.
The incident has caused concern among teachers, parents, and the local community. The school principal was informed about the matter by teachers who noticed that the girl had started missing classes and showing little interest in continuing with her studies.
According to reports, teachers at the school have promised to talk to the young girl and guide her carefully. They plan to offer counseling and advice so that she can understand the importance of education and avoid leaving school at such a young age.
