Speaking in an interview, a Kenyan lady who identified herself as Cynthia shared the horrifying ordeal she faced while working for a Nigerian tycoon in his house.
Cynthia said that when she first arrived in the country, her boss welcomed her warmly and treated her well. She felt safe and hopeful. However, in her second month of work, things suddenly changed.
She narrated that her boss informed her she would no longer work as a house help. Instead, he demanded that she assist him in performing some ritual tasks inside the house.
At first, Cynthia refused the task, feeling scared and unsure. But her boss threatened her, leaving her with no choice. Her new assignment involved spreading money—30,000 shilling notes—on the roads so that poor people could collect them as part of the rituals.
Cynthia said she carried out these tasks for three months. But in the fourth month, she kept the money for herself instead of spreading it on the road, and her boss found out.
She revealed that after this, she was severely beaten, abused, and left in a critical condition. Her injuries were so serious that she spent over a year in the hospital recovering.
