In Nairobi County, a shocking incident has been reported after a senior government official was found dead in a city lodging on Sunday morning.
The sudden death has left many people surprised as police begin investigations to understand what exactly happened.
According to reports, the official, who served as a chief, had checked into the lodging at around 10:00 AM. He was accompanied by a woman who works as a radio presenter at one of the popular radio stations in the country.
The two had reportedly entered the room together earlier in the morning.
Witnesses say that only a few minutes later, at around 10:09 AM, the woman was heard screaming and calling for help. Her cries quickly attracted the attention of people nearby, including workers and other residents in the lodging.
When people rushed to the room to see what was happening, they reportedly found the chief lying unresponsive.
The matter was immediately reported, and police officers later arrived at the scene. According to the report, several pills were found in the chief’s pocket. However, authorities have not yet confirmed whether the pills are directly linked to his death.
Police advised the radio presenter to record a statement to help with the investigation. Meanwhile, the body of the chief was taken to a morgue where it will remain as officials wait for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
