Gachagua, Kalonzo, Wamalwa Receive Hero’s Welcome in Murang’a as They Slam Government Over Insecurity and Floods

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, alongside Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa, on Sunday received a rousing welcome from residents at Kahuro Shopping Centre in Kiharu Constituency, Murang’a County, signaling growing political momentum.

The leaders, accompanied by several elected officials, interacted with wananchi who had gathered in large numbers, a move analysts interpret as an early attempt to consolidate support ahead of potential political realignments.

However, beyond the warm reception, the trio used the platform to sharply criticize the current administration, accusing it of misrule, negligence, and failure to address pressing national concerns.

Gachagua, speaking on behalf of the group, stated that Kenya is in urgent need of “resuscitation,” citing what he described as poor governance and unchecked impunity.

The leaders also expressed concern over continued banditry attacks in parts of Meru County, claiming that many lives have been lost while the government response remains inadequate.

They further criticized how authorities are handling ongoing floods affecting several regions, arguing that many Kenyans have been left without sufficient support.

Despite what they termed as threats meant to silence dissenting voices, the opposition leaders maintained they would not be intimidated, vowing to continue speaking out on issues affecting ordinary citizens.

Their remarks come at a time when the country is grappling with rising insecurity and natural disasters, increasing pressure on the government to act decisively.
