Teachers Receive Salary Boost as TSC Confirms Pay Rise Effective This Month

Teachers across the country have received a major morale boost after the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) confirmed that a salary increase will take effect this month, bringing relief to educators grappling with the rising cost of living.

According to the commission, the pay rise is part of the ongoing implementation of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

The adjustment will affect teachers across various job groups, with increments varying depending on grade and years of service.

TSC stated that the revised salaries will be reflected in teachers’ payslips this month, meaning educators will immediately benefit from the increase.

In addition to the basic salary increment, some allowances are also expected to improve, further boosting overall take-home pay.

Teacher unions have welcomed the development, terming it a positive step toward restoring morale in the teaching profession.

However, they urged the government and the commission to continue engaging teachers on other critical matters, including promotions, transfers, and working conditions.

Many teachers have expressed optimism that the salary increment will motivate them to remain committed to their duties, ultimately improving learning outcomes and strengthening the education sector.
