ODM’s Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi Blasts Party Leaders Over Alleged AI-Generated Rally Images

Senator Godfrey Osotsi, the Vihiga Senator and Deputy Party Leader in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has publicly criticized senior party figures for sharing what he claims are AI-generated images portraying large crowds at political events.

In a recent post on X, Osotsi contrasted authentic photographs from rallies held in Kakamega and Mbale with allegedly fabricated images circulated by other party leaders.

He specifically called out Dr. Oburu Odinga, Gladys Wanga, and Gideon Pkossy Kaluma, accusing them of lowering the party’s standards by sharing misleading visuals.

Osotsi urged party officials to rely on genuine benchmarks from verified events rather than sharing manipulated content. He labeled one set of images as “true” and another as AI creations, expressing disappointment over what he termed “nonsense” within ODM’s ranks.

His comments also referenced other leaders like Philip Etale and Edwin Sifuna, highlighting broader internal tensions as the party gears up for future political contests.

Observers note that disputes over image authenticity have become increasingly common in Kenya’s digital-era politics, where AI tools can easily alter perceptions of rally turnout and momentum.

Osotsi’s warning underscores the need for transparency and verifiable evidence to maintain credibility and trust among supporters.
