The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has released a list of colleges approved for Higher Education Loans Board funding in 2026, offering relief to thousands of students pursuing technical and vocational training.

According to KUCCPS data, a total of 272 public colleges under the Ministry of Education offering Technical and Vocational Education and Training programmes have been cleared for HELB loans.

The approval targets institutions offering Diploma and Certificate courses, with KUCCPS encouraging eligible students to take advantage of the funding to support their studies.

The move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen TVETs and other skill-based institutions while boosting enrolment in technical colleges across the country.
