Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wa missed a crucial event organized by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.
In a post on X, the vocal lawmaker explained that he is away in the United States attending a prayer breakfast at the Kenyan Embassy, while thousands, if not hundreds, were singing and dancing at State House during a UDA aspirants forum meeting.
“Arrival in the United States at the Kenyan Embassy reception ahead of the National Prayer Breakfast,” Ichung’wa wrote on X.
The development comes just a day after NTV reported the possibility of several governors and MPs from the Mt Kenya region planning to exit the UDA Party ahead of next year’s polls.
According to the report, Governor Cecily Mbarire, Kimani Ichung’wa, and GG Kagombe are among leaders from the region who have not registered on the UDA forum platform as candidates seeking to defend their seats in the 2027 General Election. View_more...
