George Ruto Joins First Lady Rachel Ruto in Groundbreaking Ceremony at Siboh School Chapel

On Thursday, February 19, George Ruto was seen operating an excavator during the groundbreaking and foundation stone laying ceremony for the new chapel at Siboh School and Sports Academy in Koilel Farm, Eldoret.

The event was attended by his mother, First Lady Rachel Ruto, and Education PS Julius Bitok. In a social media post, PS Bitok described the occasion as a “significant milestone in establishing a dedicated space for worship, mentorship, and character formation within the school.”

The chapel project is part of an initiative led by First Lady Rachel Ruto to promote value-based education and support the holistic growth of learners.

Once completed, the chapel will serve as a venue for spiritual development, mentorship programs, and activities that encourage ethical and moral formation.

The ceremony was presided over by Rt. Rev. Silas Yego, retired Bishop of the Africa Inland Church, and attended by the Governor of Uasin Gishu County, H.E. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, alongside county and national government officials, members of the clergy, and other distinguished guests.

George Ruto’s hands-on participation in operating the excavator highlighted the Ruto family’s commitment to community development.

His involvement was warmly received by attendees and underscored the importance of active engagement in educational and moral initiatives.

The Siboh School and Sports Academy chapel is expected to become a central hub for students, promoting both academic excellence and character development.

This project reflects ongoing efforts by the First Lady and government officials to integrate moral education with formal learning, ensuring learners grow into responsible, well-rounded citizens.
