Esther Passaris Declares Bid for Makadara MP Seat, Says She Is Ready for Ground Politics in 2027

Esther Passaris has officially declared that she will contest for the Makadara Member of Parliament seat in the 2027 General Election, signaling a major political shift ahead of the upcoming campaigns.

The current Nairobi Woman Representative announced that she is ready to leave the county-wide position and shift her focus to constituency-level leadership.

According to Passaris, the time has come for her to take her experience directly to the people on the ground in Makadara.

Speaking during a public function in Nairobi, she stated that her years in Parliament have equipped her with the knowledge and exposure needed to effectively address the challenges facing ordinary wananchi.

She said serving at the national level has helped her understand the daily struggles affecting families, youth, and small traders within Makadara.

Passaris promised that, if elected, her top priorities will include job creation for young people, empowerment programs for women and small businesses, improvement of internal estate roads, and enhanced security within the constituency.

She emphasized that Makadara needs a bold and vocal representative who will not hesitate to speak out in the National Assembly whenever residents’ interests are at stake.

Her announcement has already stirred political conversations within Makadara, a constituency widely known for its competitive political landscape.

Several aspirants are reportedly preparing quietly as the 2027 race gradually begins to take shape.

Political analysts suggest that Passaris’ entry into the contest could significantly alter the dynamics of the race, potentially forcing other hopefuls to rethink their strategies.

Supporters who attended the event expressed confidence in her leadership, citing her national visibility and experience as key strengths.

However, critics warn that Makadara politics can be unpredictable and highly contested, meaning the path ahead may not be easy.

With more than a year before the country fully enters campaign mode, attention is now turning to how Passaris will build her grassroots network, consolidate support, and position herself against strong competitors eyeing the influential Makadara parliamentary seat as the 2027 political season gradually gathers momentum across Nairobi and beyond.
